If you haven’t heard of this part of the world it’s a cluster of breath taking, tiny islands in Portugal. The inspiration for the Azores Collection comes from a tea pot collection that my mother has, her best friend Maria and my husband Christopher. Somehow the connection to the Azores islands was unavoidable. I have yet to explore this part of the world but we have plans to go next summer to celebrate the wedding of a beautiful couple...WE ARE EXCITED!
Speaking of weddings, another inspiration of this collection was my wedding! We decided since were both first generation Canadians we would celebrate our families roots and combine it all together into a beautiful mix including our wedding destination Mexico. My parents came from India, Chris’s Dad is from the Azores and his Mom is from Newfoundland. So what does an Indian, Portuguese, Newfie and Mexican wedding look like?? Let me show you:
Blue and white porcelain vases were our center pieces. This is how we decided to tie in the Portugal style (which also matched my Mothers beautiful teapot collection). Then is the idea sparked! Blue and white porcelain earrings for me and my bridesmaids…well at that time there were almost none to be found and anything I did come across was not wedding acceptable.
This is a style that has been on my brain for the last 3 years! So here are the 3 beautiful Portuguese inspired styles I have curated for you:
We all love a beautiful sunset, especially ones by the water.
Comfort and keeping warm is key when evenings begin to cool down. It's summer 2019 and one piece jumpsuits are the RAGE! I have found the perfect cashmere blend jumpsuit from Lemon Legwear. The real dilemma is how on earth do you make a sweater jumper look chic and not like you just woke up on Sunday morning? You add a little sparkle, that's how!
Let me show you how I styled this jumpsuit for a fancy date night on lake...
I chose one major statement item (Monica Earrings), I wanted a balanced feel of textures for the outfit to flow so I picked a delicate necklace (Chloe Necklace). Any time I am on the water I never wear my real wedding rings in fear of losing them. I went with rose plated rings to flow with the pink jumpsuit (Rose gold round solitaire & Honeycomb Ring) and on the right hand I added a unique conversation piece (Myrtle Ring). To make the outfit more flirty and elegant a bracelet was needed (Vina Bracelet in rose)
The pieces chosen took the outfit from blah to bangin' it really is amazing how the right accessories can transform any look.
